Digestion

Has anyone had problems with digestion. Feeling like a lump in throat with burps that seem in the throat and sometimes won't come up. It started suddenly one day about 3 weeks ago. Got an apt, with Doc. on Monday.

Thank you for posting this study. My husband is having difficulty with this problem so I'm going to share the results w/ neuro. Couldn't "copy and paste" so will write out!

Yes....and it can get worse if not treated. My husband had similar symptoms and ended up vomiting frequently for a couple of days. I took him to the ER because I worried about dehydration, etc. A neuro consult speculated that "motility" was possibly an issue. They gave him erythromyicin to help w/ moving food along, and also a med for reflux. I also cut down on amounts of food at each meal and spread the food/liquid out throughout the day. He still gets hiccups and burps a bit. I read the post which had replied to your problem.....you should consider reading if you haven't already. That study recommended an antiacid 30 minutes before taking L-dopa. Hopefully your MD will assist.

Should have added that the Erythromyicin was prescribed in very low dose as experiment to see if it would help. Husband couldn't take other motility drugs due to contraindication of heart meds. After rwading the study posted by balderdash, we're going to ask Dr about antacids.
