Does anyone have digestive problems. Mine started a couple of weeks ago with an uncomfortable feeling in upper stomach and a feeling of needing to burp. Maybe its not connected to pd.

Thanks

I have had the same problem for a long time. When ever I eat food I feel bloated its most uncomfortable.I wonder if it has anything to do with muscle cramps generated when I walk.My GP says I am imagine it.He wouldn't say that if he had it.

AFTER ALL THE STOMACH AND INTESTINAL MOVEMENT CREATED BY THOSE MUSCLE GROUPS IS ALSO IMPACTEBY P.D.-IT IS ONLY LOGICAL.I TAKE LOTS OF DIGESTIV ENZYME AND DRINK COCONUT WATER KEEFIR--ALSO TRIPHALA (AN YURVEDCI HERB FOR INTESTINAL FLOW--I ALSO USE DR. SHULTZ INTESITINAL PRODUCTS AT HERBDOC.COM--YOU GOTTA KEEP THINGS FLOWING AND GAS PLUGS YOU UP AS YOU KNOW CAUSING DISCOMFORT AS YOU WELL KNOW. EATING EASILY DIGESTIBLE FOODS IS ALSO KEY AND THAT VARIES FOR EVERYONE -- DEPENDIGNON INHERTED DGENTIC FACTORS AND CULTURAL BACKGROUND. HOPE THIS HELPS. I HAVE HAD PD FOR NEARLY 20 YEASR AND RECENTLY HAD DBS-BELIEVE IT OR NOT, THE SURGERY HAS ACTUALLY HELPED WITH DIGESTION TOO!

I am so glad to hear that DBS has helped your digestion

Cutting out dairy, sugar and coffee helped immensely. Also, some now say that PD is starts as a gut issue.

I have had bloating and distended stomach for about 5 months, my Dr. tells me its part of the Disease. He also put me in a clinical study to develop stem cells from my blood. Part of the process included a series of questions, one question they kept on asking me was when did my constipation start.

Apparently Parkinson's and constipation go hand in hand ( maybe a poor choice of words). In regards to your question I don't know if it is connected to PD. Based on my experience stomach problems it can definitely be related to PD, or it could be the meds you are on for PD. The best advise is to ask your DR.

I have had a lot of things happen to me that are related to having PD. The worst one is my employer of 22 years laid me off after discovering I had PD. I don't know if anyone can relate to that one, but it really sucks!

The physical stuff I can handle the emotion trauma is far worse. I guess that's a little more than you were asking for sorry to vent.

Although I am the caregiver and not the person who has PD, I very much understand what you are writing. It's a struggle each day to rise above the emotional anxiety and to remain in a state of peace and/or acceptance. For my husband, I try to focus on what can be done physically ro keep him stabilized, etc. Not having a job after 22 years is an emotional hit that requies some adjustment and a plan to fill the gap. I hope you reach out...

My husband had to go to the ER on Saturday due to gastric problems that are something new for him. The general consensus, without any tests, is that dis gigestive tract has slowed down and that the contents of his stomach may not be digesting ina timely manner. They concluded that he needed a medicine for "motility." And yes, husband has been burping and hiccuping. He also experienced vomiting. You may want to consider seeing your doctor because it might get worse.

Probiotics and fiber, fiber, fiber. My gastro says 8 of those fiber pills a day (I usually manage at least 4). Being up and mobile helps keep things working great too.
