For those of you who have had DBS surgery-- When I wake up in the morning, I can't move. It is a great effort to reach for the pill bottle. Everything is stiff including my hands. Will DBS help this?

DBS and immobility
There are 3 FDA approved symptoms that DBS is supposed to improve . Tremors rigidity and freezing. Sounds like when you are getting up you're freezing. Bradykinesia-slowness- is freezing on its way.
Do you take meds during the night? I had to start doing this about 2 a.m and it helped, I also take a Vitamin B Complex before bed every other night and reduced/stopping intake of red meat. I had DBS in April 2012, it gave me my life back, sure there were some not so great things but once it was set correctly I have had a good life with DBS.
thanks for your reply. what meds do you take at night? Did the dbs surgery help with morning stiffness at all? or was it the meds at night? My 2 biggest problems are the inability to walk and immobility in the morning. Does DBS do anything for those ? I am scheduled to have it next week. thanks
I don't know -- I haven't had it. I do take a half a sinemet ER before bedtime. I can move pretty well relatively speaking (age 74 dx 10 yrs) for an hour. I'll ask my friends who had DBS.
thanks!
