I'm not sure whether what I experience is what people refer to as freezing.

I have what I call "go slows" - I am fully aware of what is going on around me and I can hear people talking (usually wondering what to do about me) but I can't really communicate clearly and can't move - like wading through mud. These episodes can last for several hours and are often associated with meal times where I sit, while everyone else is eating, staring at my plate feeling stupid but unable to move. I have been on quite a large dose of sinemet 4 tablets 5 times a day but I felt over medicated and recently cut it back to 3 x 5 and have felt much better. However, I still have some "go slows" just not every day as it was before.

Does this happen to anyone else?

Before I was diagnosed, I used to get this sort of thing at night. I would suddenly awake and find I could see all around me, was aware of it all, but I was unable to move. since being on medication I have not had it since.

Now I just rarely sleep much.

Obviously there must be something going on upstairs in the attic but what?

Hi Rozzles. That is a hell of a dose of sinemet. As you have had success cutting down to 3 try cutting even further and see what happens.

BEST WISHES

John

Yes, but you know you could move if you had to. I experience this frequently. The classes I take for pwp's address this. Google "Pamela Quinn" a professional dancer with PD who addresses this
