If it gives relief then bring it on! Tony
Both marijuana and alcohol tend to make me dizzy so I lay on the floor and hold on.
wish i could get some to try!
No alcohol for me. In Colorado mmj is legal with application. A good indica can knock out your tremor within 15 minutes. Never a sativa...makes a tremor much worse. At least from my experience.
forgive my ignorance but what is a indica,i,m desperate to get some relief from my tremor.
All marijuana contains both indica and sativa compounds, with one dominating. We say that indica is good for below the neck - pain, sleep, appetite - and tends to make one more relaxed (more of a downer), while sativa is good for symptoms above the neck - depression, inspiration, mental processes - and tends to activate you (an upper).
I do not drink but I do partake of a little smoke and find that it helps with the tremors and with my muscle disease. I do fear for my boyfriend however who gets the smoke for me, it is illegal here
A half pint of cider I take at say 8 pm and I don't need sine met during the evening

Everyday. I find both relax me. If my mind thinks it will calm me then it will calm me.
Other things that calm me: playing poker, exercise, shower, deep breathing, cigarettes, praying.
Things to avoid: People telling you no.
Remember, moderation.
I think you should be able to do what ever you want if it makes life more tolerable.
I have my little hobbies that absorb my time, some have other things they enjoy.
Who are any of us to judge what ever makes life that little bit easier to cope with
if it means taking less drugs and less reliance on the doctos I am all for it.
I drink a couple of beers maybe 1 or 2 days a week. That's good for me. I am not a big drinker. I don't really smoke pot.
I haven't tried it but Hemp oil. youtube.com/watch?v=IUSbJWp...
I love my beer several days a week and I do smoke pot occasionally but now that the Dr had to add Zoloft to the mix for my anxiety I tend to get a few more headaches. I refuse to give up my few pleasures because of meds or PD.
Hello fellow stoners!
When I was working I would not dare smoke pot for the fear of a drug test , but since I was fired from my job, because of my symptoms! I do partake now in smoking weed and hash and I also enjoy all the edibles! It is fun to try the different types of weed out there! I find that the Hash helps my symptoms the best! I am waiting for some extra cash and I would like to buy a vaporizer! I also drink a little beer and wine but I find that I have to be carful , because it can really make me off balance ! Enjoy everyone.
There also is this stuff called cbgb that I have tried, it comes in a little bottle with a dropper , and I found that stuff really helps also. But it is hard to find
I enjoy beer. Usually 2 beers and I begin to relax. It does not interfere with my meds. I have not tried medical marijuana, which is legal in New Mexico. I only dirink beer. Cocktails cause me to stare and gaze. Beer works for me.
Thank God for honest open minded people...that is....those of you who share the Parkinson's affliction and were willing to frankly express personal experiences with cannabis.. Other than try some pot over 40 years ago in college, I worked for years as a USCG officer and later as a criminal investigator for the state where I reside without touching the stuff. In 2003 I was diagnosed with PD. About the same time, a dear friend was undergoing chemo and offered to share some pot he used for nausea. In addition to easing the nausea frequently induced by some of my prescription PD drugs, pot unquestionably and undeniably reduces my tremors which are becoming more pronounced as the illness slowly progresses. Interestingly, and I say this facetiously, the so called questionable "gateway" drug argument so often advanced, has not occurred in my case.. I have not experienced, not once, any desire to move on to cocaine, heroine or crystal meth. I use it sparingly, no more than once every day or so, and can generally make an ounce last a year. If I go on vacation with family, I'll do without for weeks at a time.It doesn't have to be smoked. In fact, it can be ingested as a vapor, as I prefer, quite effectively by any one of a number of popular vaporizers now on the market. Yes, it does mildly intoxicate or relax, but less so in my opinion than the numbing effect of alcohol which I personally detest. I'll save my rant on the drug war for another day, but do want to express my concern over our system which incarcerates thousands of non violent pot smokers everyday. The USA now has 5 percent of the world's population and 25 percent of its prisoners.....the highest rate of incarceration in the world.

Indeed toke up.
I am in total agreement of smoking to help with the PD. I have had it for 11 years and have smoked for 11 plus. It helps with my tremor and just all around makes me feel better. I actually function quite well stoned and have never had the desire to try anything stronger or more dangerous. I don't enjoy drinking and especially don't care for the day after when you have one to many. That doesn't happen with Marijuana. Just wanted to add my 2cents on this issue since I feel very strongly about it.
Indica is an MMJ strain with many different variations. Indica and sativa are two DIFFERENT STRAINS. Indicas provide a calming relaxing sedative quality and knocks out my tremor quickly with 1-3 puffs. Sativa is an energy and
mood enhancer. Great if you want to be up and active. It makes my tremor much worse. A popular indica that I use
would be any kind of "kush". Indica and sativa have probably a hundred if not more choices. I'm not an expert I just know what helps me as a PD patient. Search MMJ and Parkinsons. Good Luck
I enjoy 2 (or more , sometimes) glasses of red wine most nights. Helps relieve the stiffness. A friend of a friend grows his own MJ and its all organic... gave me some "butter" with which to make cookies .... nice stuff
So glad to be in California where I can legally enjoy the benefits of Medical Marijuana. Thank you Cali.
When the pain level gets to 7 or 8 on a scale from 0 to 10, I take a hit or two of medical marijuana (low in THC, high in CBD). It relieves pain totally in just a few minutes. Medical and recreational marijuana has been legalized in Washington state, USA. and Colorado, USA.
My doctor is totally against pot and I'm not I like to take smoke every once in awhile but my doctor is so against it he said if I don't stop he won't prescribe anything but PD meds for me so I think it's time to find a new doctor I'm not even sure if my doc is board certified in Parkinson's but you can bet I'm gonna find out like in the morning
Too much!! He certainly has a god-complex. And doesn't give a sh765t about you..
My doctor said I should try MM and if it worked go ahead with it When I have severe dystonia in my feet I take a drink to get relief faster than my medication can. THen the meds kick in and I can function. this doesn't happen often..THe pain is unbearable..
Indica prominent marijuana in any form is the ticket for supreme PD relief, Take charge of your life.
where would i get ths type of weed? i lve in nj .and im lucky if i get a buzz off what is sold around here
has anyone developed a stutter, or to be more precise , always stuttered but PD has made it worse, much worse?
u go boy!!! fronya
i enjoy my rum with no after effects but beer n lager make me feel ill
Weed and alchohol get me mellowed out. They really calm me out. Regsrding weed, i get very hungry on indicas and on sativas u like to got driving or to a store or the mall to laugh at people. When im drunk i like to sit with friends and reminisce on earlier experiences and friend who die. When i get too drunk i occasionally cry so i smoke to mellow me out again. Alcohol and weed both give me a great feeling and outlook onlife, but not saying you should but if you need to really escape rry opiate pain killers like codeine, norco, or oxycodone or basically any narcotic. Dont try narcotics with alcohol tho they will fuck you up and could make you OD.
