The coq10 study was stopped because even at very high doses there was no proven effect. I know a lot of people who were hoping it would be helpful but it hasn't-at least for PD. Fish oil is good to help your cardiovascular system so it can't hurt. I've read some testimonials .from people who took Shaklee products for PD and got better but this is simply one person's view and not a medical study.

I take both CO-Q10 and fish oil. I've read the research about CO-Q10 also. I think it gives me more energy. The fish oil is good for your heart, but it also seems to help with my leg cramps. This is just how it works for me. Blessings.

I take both CoQ10 (Quonol, liquid form) and Omega 3 Fish Oil (1200 mg). The oil contains a fatty acid which your body needs but cannot produce. I use is as part of a very successful heart regimen, but have read of its benefits with PD also.

I keep a bottle of Quonol (liquid CoQ10) in my refrigerator. When going somewhere important or doing something important, I stop by the fridge and indulge in a 500mg swallow of Quonol.

YES!!, I DRINK FROM THE BOTTTLE SO SUE ME! I've read all the studies that say it doesn't work but it, 1. tastes good, 2. Is cool and refreshing, 3. makes me feel better, 4. doesn't make me nauseous, which is more than be said for any of the PD medications. For me, medically beneficial or not, Quonol has been worth its price.

Yes both and strong c vit, zinc sulphate and heart supplement with vit e in.

Wwhere do you get quonol from. .? Co enzyme q 10 is v expensive if you buy one easily assimilated by body.

Anyone else use Fish oil for leg cramps ? And if so, what dose and how many times a day? (USA) Co Q10 what dose and how many times a day? Whenever I do much walking (which is very little) I have very bad leg cramps that keep me up all night! Does anyone have restless leg syndrome and what do you take for that? Oh the legs and my knees just are so bad! Someone mentioned how much worse they feel when the weather changes! Living in the upper midwest of the USA, we will soon be experiencing winter, last year I could hardly walk from the cold and if I tried to wrap in blankets to keep my legs warm then the RLS started!

Blessings,

Carol

I've been taking a pretty high dose of fish oil for cholestral, has done nothing for PD, or leg cramps or joint pain

I take both but with 3 hands full of other vites/mins/amino acids/herbs. Don't know how any single item affects me. I know they're generally good for heart and I have a dicey family history of heart trouble. I'm looking for the magic pill.

Statins (cholesterol lowering meds) eat up coq-10 like candy.

Vivix is the Shaklee product. It contains resveratrol. It is $100 for a month's supply. I'll wait till I see real Clinical proof before I try it on my husband.

I take 200 mg CoQ10 4x a day. It is rather expensive, but I've noticed a HUGE difference after taking it regularly. In the few times I've run out and had to wait to buy more, my pd symptoms were much worse. The meds I take are Sinemet, Comtan and Requip and they work pretty well to control my symptoms, but the CoQ10 makes a big difference in my opinion.

Can you describe in a little detail what symptoms improve by taking the CoQ10, how much they improve and if there are any side effects. Also, it seems common for people to complain that taking medication dos not have a reliable outcome. Sometimes the pills work and sometimes not. Do you experience this with the CoQ10 also?

The last Parkinson Symposium I attended stated that CoQ10 was not helpful for PD.

Not what you're looking for?
