I dare say it can.

I bought some Jars but cannot take it by the spoonful

I used it up on baking cakes, and using it to fry onions when making a curry, but the cakes have to be coconut flavoured you understand. It does add a certain pleasant flavour to a curry.

Yes I add it to smoothies and in winter I add it to porridge and make fruit compote with it too. Made kedgeree last night with lots of coconut oil.

I shall assume that you and I are using the same notion of a "smoothy". For me it is a cold ice and juice and maybe fruit drink made in a blender. The answer is yes but it is a little tricky.

The issue is that the coconut oil will quickly turn hard in the icy water and if you blend it when it is hard it turns out sort of like rice. What I do is prepare everything else in the blender. Then I melt the coconut oil in some very hot water, only a rather small amount of water. I pour this into my blender mixture and IMMEDIATELY turn on the blender. If I am quick about it then the mixture is made before the coconut oil solidifies. I have had good luck with this approach

Thanks for your interest,

Wes

Definitely. I make avocado/straberry smoothies and I put in 5 tbsp coconut oil and place the moothie in ice tray to make it sherbet. I also put coconut oil in ice in ice cube trays so my wife can take it, 2tbsp and 3tbsp doses per cube.

Have been using coconut oil for my dad who most likely has dementia with lewy bodies. It keeps his dementia stabilized. I can't say it makes it disappear entirely, but it keeps it at bay. He needs the coconut oil 3-4 times/day. He's up to 4 tablespoons/day. It makes a huge difference. When he doesn't take it, he gets very stubborn and irrational. With it, he is pleasant and mostly cognizant.

We usually melt the c.o. and shake it up into his coffee in the morning, which makes the coffee creamier and richer. It's also great melted in cream of wheat. We love it for frying pancakes too. In the afternoon we melt it and shake it into a thick juice like mango juice or pear. If the juice is room temp, the blend is very good. (Sort of like a smoothie but less work!)

I've been able to buy a big tub of organic c.o. at Sam's Club for only $15.

I appreciate everyone else's comments on the subject. Thank you!
