Hi, I get a feeling in my right arm that feels exactly like a vibration. But there is no movement to see. It makes me want to shake my arm to free me of this vedy uncomfortable feeing

Hi

I experience a lot of what I call "internal vibration". I've mentioned it to my Neuro dude but he didn't really seem concerned ... just said that there are a wide range of symptoms that can be experienced by patients, some due to the disease and some caused by medication.

It seems to be another manifestation of misfiring signals to muscles ... when it happens in legs I gather it is called restless legs syndrome. I think we parky types just have restless anything and everything!

When it is in my limbs, I try stretching them which seems to help. When it is in my abdomen/trunk and makes me feel nauseous I just try to ignore it.

Would be interested to hear what others have to say.

I am in the UK.

EDITED TO ADD A NOTE/LINK

Here is a link to a reply I just made to another similar question on this board (I was feeling more "wordy" today!!): joanneclements.com/wordpres...

Hello Brockie,

I have the same, sometimes I can place my hand over my chest and feel the internal tremors, though it seems to go through my limbs also. The only way I know how to describe it is this, it feels like an electrical current running through my body! I have not found anything that makes it better, have tried stretching, deep breathing, exercise, etc. It can be very distracting.

Hi Brockie,

I also have it and to me it feels like a motor running. Feel it mostly in the morning. No idea what it is so I just live with it.

mine is in my lower abdomen! I do the hokey pokey and shake it all about. But if it's too bad, I'm frozen with it.

I have what started out as a vibrating in my foot. This progressed to unbearable pain and cramping in my foot on my affected side. It seems to radiate from my hip and end up in my foot. It keeps me up at night and I have asked my neurologist, movement disorder specialist, and have seen a pain doctor about it numerous times as well. No one seems to have an answer. The pain specialist ordered an MRI of my neck which I'm having next Tuesday. Maybe it will show something.

So glad this question was asked. I have this vibrating in my left hand. It started recently and, at first, I thought

it was my cell phone vibrating as I wear it on my left wrist. It was not the phone as it happens when I am not

wearing the phone. There is nothing visible, but it is definitely there. Susie01, I agree it feels like an electric

current and is very distracting. I guess I'm lucky it is only in my left hand.

Yes, vibration is the best word to use to describe the sensations I get, mostly in my arms. This happens when I wake up in the middle of the night and is usually accompanied by feeling achy. The only thing that helps is to get up since there is no way I can go back to sleep when this happens. I feel fine once I am up.

I feel it in my upper legs. Mine happens around 2-3 in the PM. No noticeable movement but my legs are going like crazy. Not to sound bad, but I am glad I am not the only one.

It feels like something is alive inside! Had it for yours before diagnosis of PD.

Yes, that describes it. I wonder if anyone has reported it to their neuro and what did they say?

The only relief I've ever experienced from this (mostly constant) phenomenon has been Acupuncture and Twi Na deep tissue massage. I describe it as an internal cell phone vibrating. I frequently check my phone on my belt to make sure it is not going off

This is an edit to my original post but its something I wrote in another thread yesterday... why I chose to be more wordy then than before, I really don't know!

Hi

brockie sent me this link ~ THANKS!

I have primary hypothyroidism, adrenal insufficiency with low ACTH (all diagnosed this March) I have just had my pituitary gland scanned and shows everything is normal (yay!).

However, I have been experiencing a tremor in my body since before the diagnosis in March, it was in my left arm and I thought I was imagining it? However recently the tremor has increased to both arms (by the way, it went away when I first started Thyroxine and Steroids) and particularly the left hand with the index finger, seeming to have a life of its' own - quite funny to watch!

My blood tests have been returned, I am on the right level of Thyroxine.

Also (sorry to go on) I did notice a vibration in my left heel one day but that has gone. Also on my left foot the toes curl of their own accord, not cramp, just curling up. They then stay there and I can release them a few moments later. I have suffered with Restless Leg Syndrome for years but at times it seems worse.

I am off to see the consultant on 19 Nov - so hopefully he will be able to support me.

I also tried to cut carbohydrates out for a week - trying to lose some weight, but the tiredness (which also happens sporadically) is overwhelming and I feel like I am absolutely exhausted.

Phew! Nice to get that all said.

Any responses would be appreciated.
