DBS I WOULD LIKE TO HERE FROM ANY ONE WHO HAS ONE.

Hi would like to here from any one who has a DBS and know,s how many volts .

Since you have had the DBS Has any one had the volt,s move . I would like to here about it, how ever small .

I had DBS op in September 2011. I am currently set at 2.7 volts on both sides. I think the programming of the stimulator takes a time and much patience. HoPe this helps. Tony

I had mine done in 2008 . At first i thought it was grate . I was on 2.5 both sides . for no reason they cut my Madopar 125 mg from 16 right down to 4

62.5 madopar I live on my own and told i could not manage . After a month I end'd up in hospital where i live so seen a new DR she put me 5 - 125 mg and put the DBS back on 2.5 volts after a week i was sill not right but sent home as she didn't want to play with what my DR was doing. I was not told the DBS had also been put down.

TO cut a long story down . I have got a new DR BECAUSE THE OLD DR THINK HE IS GOD.

I have probes set in both sides. One in 2009, other side a year later. 1st allowed me to stop shaking enough I can use power tools again. 2nd cured the scoliosis curve the 1st caused from only being stimulated on one side. The volts are adjusted every so often, as my voice softens, or when my back starts hurting again. Do not trust my wife to do it so I see a programmer. Trust him, not her. (she is typing this and she just punched my arm). Reading several sites and posts I guess it does not work for all, but sure has for me. Dystonia progresses, but I fight it every day. Given recumbent cycle to keep legs limber. Cycling across America. Mike Miller

I do have the DBS but mine is the Rechargeable DBS system and I love it. I have had both systems implanted. I have had the Rechargeable s since February 2010.

I do have an implant on the left side. I had it 2 years ago this month and have been tremor free since them. I have been diagnosed for 10 years and am just starting to notice occasional balance problems and rigidity. Would definitely do it again if I need it on the other side.
