Thanks everyone for your advice and friendship here in our alternate universe where we can talk about anything that effect our lives. I hope i have helped or inspired someone here that was my goal. Every thing i wrote here was as true as i make it. The names were changed to protect the innocent. I leave you now for a while to deal with the things my meds have lead me to do. Gambling has taken over my life and i must use all my strength and devote all my time to repair the wrongs i have done. I have wrote of my addition here but not how bad it has gotten lately. In the past 2 weeks i have lost $5000.00 us. It is not a great amount but the sneaking around and lying that goes with it. That is what has hurt my lovely wife. I will be back some day soon

Makers of dopermine agonists have a lot to answer for.

I hope your loved ones know that this is not your fault. You are strong and an inspiration to many, they should know that too. Come back soon....
I wish you well. Is the gambling addiction due to one of your Parkinson's drug?
I'm so sorry to hear this, Bailey. You have always been so courageous and transparent in your postings. I hope this gets sorted out for you quickly. You will be missed.
Good decision Bailey, though we will miss you. All the best cutting back on those agonists.

Sending healing love to you and your wife.
You will be missed! Come back soon.
There is no problem that can not be solved in this world, sometimes it takes a lot of will, discipline and ability, but there is no failure to pursue our goals, but there is not having continued long enough in the direction of achieving the purpose . Never give up Bailey and in the end you, your family and we will win too. I esteem you as you esteem me.

Bailey, you are a strong man and I know that you can beat this. I'll be looking forward to your return.
One more point Bailey : I would never quit this type of medication abruptly.
If you choose to quit, be extremely gradual.
Be strong! We all hope for the best, do come back soon!
Bailey, I will miss you! You have inspired me to keep at the exercise even when I didn’t want to move off the couch. I thought that you had gone off the dopamine agonist medication awhile back, yet the gambling addiction is still a problem. What this means for me, a person who has had addictions to food, shopping and other behaviors too personal to mention here, is that stopping the medication doesn’t guarantee that the addiction doesn’t disappear forever.
I am furious that neurologists prescribe this class of drugs, especially when c/l works well, is inexpensive, and remains the gold standard for PD meds. My MDS told me that da’s only cause compulsivity in a small minority of patients. My guess is that many more are too embarrassed to report problems, thinking that they are at fault for the behavior.
Thanks for being so open and honest. You encourage and inspire people because of your determination. This is a hard hit, but I am hopeful that you will be able to overcome.....regards to your wife.....
Thanks everyone for your support. I cried like a baby when i read your replies.
Kudos to you, Bailey, for your willingness to fight this! Sending you good wishes.
Bailey, you will be missed big time. Your spirit and generosity had a real impact and emotional uplift for me. It's like you go to work just to do your job or it's the place you have friends and it's not just a job - you are looking forward to every morning. I know your pain. I also screwed up big time because of the compulsions that agonists imposed. But it is what it is. Wishing you the best and hope to see you back soon. Lana
Hey we make mistakes , we are human.
You can fix this, and you will.
Waiting for your return
good luck
