Gluten free was a life saver for me. It eliminated a lot of discomfort. It this would help you better than mess, to for it, you have nothing to lose?

Yes, and sugar free especially. Although it's hard to do all the time. I am dairy free. I use almond milk a lot. I love it. I also have replaced all my white flour with gluten free flours. I use coconut sugar. Not sure if it's any better for you than regular sugar though. I don't know if all this helps or not. I have gotten use to this diet and I've found I like it. It's worth a try.

Dairy free makes such a difference! I followed the Paddison program which allows you to reintroduce foods to find food triggers for symptoms.

I have gone both gluten and dairy free. For one thing, I had had a positive experience eliminating gluten some years ago (well before RA symptoms or dx) when I had an onset of of severe pain in my elbows. Every morning, I had awful pain on the insides of my elbows and it literally took 5-10 minutes to just unbend them and straighten my arms. I read about gluten and joints and tried it. After only about two weeks, the pain was gone. I tested the cause of my relief by going back to a regular diet, and the pain quickly returned. After that, I went on a highly reduced gluten diet - saving gluten for family dinners or going out. When the RA struck and I researched, I went back to 100% gluten free.

I've been vegetarian for 37 years and always felt vegan would be both healthier and in keeping with humane food production. Reading about casein put me over the edge. I've been vegan for about 4 months now.I feel much better now than I have in years. I can't guarantee it is diet, but I talked my rheumy into reducing my methotrexate and my pain went down and I had more energy to exercise. I also feel better in my gut. No bloating, very regular digestion. I don't feel heavy or lethargic after eating. So for me, this was a win-win-win.

Absolutely!! Although my body still craved carbs sometimes, I didn't fight it. Gave my body what it needed and eventually stopped all gluten. I did not go out and spend loads of extra money on gluten free products. Just increased in take of non gluten free items. Rice cakes and peanut butter usually held me over in those tough times. Stay away from beer!! Good luck.
