Pain in the neck

I have had a very sore right side of my neck pain since June 3rd. I went to my chiropracter 2 times, that didn't work. I called my GP, she was on vacation, so got an emergency appt at my Arth Dr's office where the nurse gave me 2 steriod shots in my neck. That worked for 3 days then the pain came right back. Now I've been going for Physical Therapy for 3 weeks, 2-3 times a week and I have had only one minute of feeling 'normal' just last night. I had my regular appt with my Arth Dr yesterday & he shot my neck again 3 times with more steroids. Oh, and I have been taking muscle relaxants too for about 3 weeks now.

I am so sick & tired of this neck pain. The only times it doesn't hurt are when I sleep or when I ice it. I cannot learn to live with this, as it is such a painful jolt that it leaves me almost to my knees. I don't know what else I can do. Anyone have any suggestions?

Have you seen an orthopedic doctor? Maybe you have compressed or deteriorated discs pressing on some nerves. Have you had an MRI? That might be what you should have done first. I'm surprised doctor didn't order that done & refer you to see an orthopedic specialist.

I agree with having test done to rule out Arthritis is the problem. It definitely could be something else. You may need a pain dr or orthopedic to help determine your pain.

See a neurologist ASAP. Careful with the next and the Chiropractor, most Rheumatologist cringe if they know you are seeing one. The neurologist put me on Inderal and Gabapentin...seems to be helping
