Hi Penny66, it happened to me at the very beginning. However, the condition stopped sometime ago. I did inform my doctor about this side effect, the doctor said that unless a bunch of it else as compare to the benefits it bring to me, it was not alarming enough to demand a change.

So don't worry, it will stop else talk to your doctor about it.

Thank you. I will wait for a while to see if it stops.

Hahaha... look at my picture here, this was taken in Nov 2015. I still have a lot of hair, right? Trust yourself, not to worry too much about it.

Aren't you on folic acid? If not you need to be right away. This helps prevent that. It also helps to prevent the mouth sores you can get from the MTX. I take 3 tablets of Folic Acid 1 mg.

Good luck!

I have been losing some too. I just took my fifth dose Monday. Mine is already thin and getting thinner. I have already decided if it keeps up I am just going to shave it off and go without :). Maybe a bright purple wig for special occasions lol. Also maybe if it all falls out it will grow back in better. That would be nice.

Today I saw my rheumatologist and he told me my blood work was negative and X-rays show different types of arthritis but this past August 2016 my life changed at 53. I woke up to severe pain in my joints, swelling and simply could not walk to the bathroom alone. After going through the process of elimination I still knew nothing. So I was until Jan 2017 seeing a real arthritis doc. Today was my second visit and it appeared as if I was going home with no answers so I quickly started asking about my fingers and the electricity that runs through my hands and head. I admit prednisone saved my life no doubt about it. It kept me from going to the nursing home. Meanwhile 3 Docs said I had fibro so I was on 400 mg twice a day of neurontin and that had moved to 600 mg twice a day a week ago. I couldn't tell it was helping at all. Meanwhile Percocet done nothing for the pain. So finally today he offered methotrexate 8 pills one day a week keep in mind there may be nausea, hair loss and oh yea I'm tapering you off the prednisone and then I'm also ordering some physical therapy. I really couldn't believe what I was hearing. In what world will I be able mentally or physically to do this? Oh yea don't forget the folic acid. Oops I have an endocrinologist appt next month because my primary thinks my parathyroid is a tumor now and needs to be removed. I have no maid, no care giver not even an appt book. I am also on about 13 more meds. I just wanted help. I didn't need all of this really I didn't.

Are you taking folic acid every day with this? You should be. Folic acid helps to prevent the side affects from the methotrexate; mouth sore, hair loss, etc...
