Just received Dx of RA this past week.  Rheumatologist started treatment with Mobic and Plaquenil. How long before I notice any improvement with symptoms of fatigue and pain?

It can take the plaquenil up to 12 weeks to work. The major most common side effect is vision issues so you should see an opthalmologist for a baseline exam now and then see him or her every 6 months so that subtle changes can be detected early

It's very important to see your eye doctor, my little sister is on that and she has developed a cataract in one eye and one developing in other eye.

My doc told me that it takes up to 3 months to reach full saturation with most meds. So you can try a new medication up to 4 times a year. If you have RA ask your rheumatologist if your are moderate or severe? If the new meds don't do ANYTHING for you by 1 month, call and ask for a different med.
