Hi, I was diagnosed with Crohn's 2 years ago now and have been on biological medicine since then. Although it has helped I'm still suffering from digestive and joint pain.
My wife also became unwell around same time. She was diagnosed with sarcoidosis. However after becoming very unwell last month and a extended stay in hospital she has tested positive for something called Whipple's disease. Sarcoidosis seems very unlikely now.
We had never heard of it and our 2 local hospitals have never seen a case it's that rare!
Her consultant has advised considering my condition that I also get tested. I have read there has been a couple of cases of Crohn's being mistaken for Whipple's as they present many of the same symptoms.
I know it's a long shot but has anyone else had or got Whipple's?
Thanks.
