Hi, please can anyone recommend an effective gentle colon cleanse. Is this ok to do without medical advice if you have crohns.

I would think the best advice for this should come from your consultants office - I wouldn't like to say!

Thanks guys I know you're both right. Just feel like I need a good detox and get some probiotics in my gut sick of feeling rubbish

I think any new medical treatment should be overseen by your medical team.I use Quofora trans-anal irrigation daily (have colitis), my treatment is overseen by my specialist Continence physio, and consultant colorectal surgeon also my GP.

Your medical team would be able to advise treatments that would be effective for your particular condition/symptoms.

Hi you really need to check this with your ibd nurse. My understanding is that it's not a good idea. Risk of tearing, getting rid of the good bacteria etc.

Hi, I would strongly recommend you talk to your Gastroenterology team for advice on this, always best to talk to people who know your specific case as what may be suitable for one person may not be suitable for another. They should know your full history and the best way forward for you.
