I have high calpro and no symptoms of any sort.

I've left doctors scratching their heads. Went for further diagnosis and no one seems to know what's causing the inflammation and high calpro. Have had my colonoscopy come negative for crohns and UC...

Does higher than 200 always lead to a colonoscopy?

It should technically lead to a coloscopy if it's over 200.

Sorry for the late reply but did you get your colonoscopy done?

Hi, I’m in a similar situation. Did you find out what was causing the high calpro?

Hey. Not yet. All speculations - could be this could be that! And it's been 9 months now and still no answers, just speculations.

Have you had a colonoscopy?

Hi there, I know it’s been a while since you posted this, but I was just wondering how high your calprotectin level is/was, whilst having no symptoms. I’ve recently had a test and mine came back at 722. I’m booked in for an urgent MRI and colonoscopy, but I’m really hoping it’s not IBD or anything else. I have stomach discomfort and I’m going to the toilet each day with loose stool (only one per day though) and apart from that I feel ok, so I’m just really hoping it’s nothing serious.

Hey. So mine was above 1000. And it's been 9 months since. Went in some anti inflammatory med and it came down to 50. But then again, it's creeping up slowly.

I've had my Coloscopy and nothing confirmed! So still waiting for answers.

An MRI? Coloscopy makes sense but why an MRI? I thought they would do a contract CT.

Anyways good luck and keep me posted.

BTW I never had not have any symptoms to date. So it's even more odd says the doctor.

Hi, thank you so much for your quick response. It’s an MRI of my small bowel. As I say I’m not suffering terribly, so I’m hoping it’s nothing to worry about. It’s bizarre how your calprotectin is so high with no symptoms at all. My main symptom is pain. I’ll let you know how I get on. I hope you get some answers at some point. Thank you

What are is your pain in usually? And is it only in one area or radiates to other areas of the abdomen.

Trust me, I have 3 gastros scratching their heads over my issues.

Biopsy came negative for chrons and UC in Nov of last year. They want to do another colonoscopy because apparently UC is aggressive and after this long, it should be clear and evident.

I hope I really don't have IBD and it's just a temporary thing. And likewise, hope yours is also something resolves on it own.

My pain seems to come in from the sides when it’s cramping, the pain tends to be in the middle and low down when it’s sharp and stabbing and I have slight tenderness in the upper part, so it’s kind of all over, but different types of pain in each area. It’s not so severe that it’s stopping me doing any of my normal daily things, it’s just constantly there. I hope your next colonoscopy comes back clear as well and it’s not UC. I guess it’s hard not having a diagnosis, but as long as you’re not suffering, that’s the main thing. Let me know how you get on.

My daughters came back the first time at 1200 and she did another sample that came back at 355. She’s booked in for a colonoscopy in which was for March but unfortunately got cancelled due to Covid. We are still waiting for another appointment. She still has bloating and lots of gas and can have rather a noisy tummy. Sometimes mucus but no blood.

What are the symptoms of crohns ?

I hope your daughter gets some answers soon. That’s good that her calprotectin has come down. I’m really hoping that I don’t have UC or crohns either. Reading some people’s experiences on here, I’m no where near as bad, so I’m hoping mine isn’t just starting out and that’s why I’m not too bad at the moment. Does you daughter suffer with pain as well as gas and bloating? My tummy is noisy as well. My gastroenterologist seems to be assuming I have IBD, but I really hope not

Yes she does have pain. High up her tummy and down the bottom. She said sometimes her stomach feels bruised almost. She can go days fine and then bang it’s gd again. This literally started out of the blue. She had nothing at all before.
