Why is TPMT test done?

Anything to be worried about?

in colonscopy results it was written inflamation in IC valve and very distal ileum with some degree of pathchy inflamation in the distal ileum.

What does it mean? The doc has took some biospies and in addition he has given TPMT level test? Can anyone clarify this what does it mean, would be very grateful.

Some of the drugs used in IBD require a test is done, prior to treatment, to ensure your levels don't fall too far. It is normally a precautionary test, done more often than it is needed.
