Hiya
Well Crohns disease for 40 years and I find an bland diet is good all things white and meal supplement drink works well avoid fried or greasy keep it plain and simple.
I have had Crohn's for 30 odd years. When it is rumbling I have problems with any high fibre, all citrus fruits, very high fat. Can eat eggs, cheese (not too much), white bread, white pasta, polished rice, low fat yohurt, bananas, tuna, mackrell, salmon, (fish fresh or tinned) prawns, tomatoes have to be skinned and deseeded, peanut butter (smooth) cashew nut butter (smooth). peeled potatoes, well cooked spinach . Some veg such as parsnips, carrots and sweet potato (if well mashed) I use a stick blender. Spiced foods are interesting, can have chicken tikka, as dry (no sauce full of spices in bits etc) . When at my best can eat some red meat, just not too much, I cook shalotts or onions in the oven in foil, so they get very soft, get the flavour without the bits. I have had a problem with milk since birth, so have Almond milk with cornflakes or coco pops ( both no fibre problem). Can cope with porridge if I cook for about twice the time to reduce fibre. Chicken and turkey are fine, just have to leave off my plate a lot of the extras (love sprouts, now have to over cook and blend, not the same!!!). I did spend a lot of time adding in new things to diet, each for a couple of weeks, before tried next new thing, worth doing even if boring in the extreme!!! In the winter am OK with some soups, cream of chicken, cream of tomato, also spaghetti hoops!! I love chocolate dark the most, have to be VERY sparing with this. I never reach the 5 frut+veg a day and take quite a few supplements, such as Omega3, Vit D3, and a B collection, do not know if work but hope so. A bit long winded but gives a picture of one persons diet. Good luck
OK thanks
