Hi Crohns is an autoimmune disease which means your body makes antibodies against your bowels, symptoms as you are aware are diarrhoea, bleeding, ulceration of bowel, pain and weightloss. The disease often has episodes of flare ups and remissions
Crohns disease aso effects people differently. it can be anywhere along digestive tract from mouth to anus. although the bowel is the more common area affected by disease.
extent and progression of disease differs from mild to severe, some peole manage with diet, others medication or surgery. flare ups are more severe and common in severe disease
medications also differ depending on severity of disease. medications can be increased or added during times of flare to help manage disease activity
no particular food has been identified as a trigger, and you will find a food that upsets one persone is fine with another. I have tried dairy free, gluten free, carb free, but the only things I find upset me is chinses (unless homemade) high fats and sugars, esp things like rich creamy sauces. Try keeping a diary to help yourself identify the foods that cause you irritation/pain/diarrhoea.
hope this is of some help. please dont hesitate to ask more questions. any questions you feel yu do not want to be shared on community can be send to me privately through the site.
Take care x
I would try an elimination diet.
Slowly reintroduce foods one at a time to see if any of them cause you issues. Everyone with this disease is different, there is no ‘one’ diet for Crohns. Some people do get lucky and find the perfect diet for them, however it’s likely taken them some time to figure it out. Others with Crohns eat whatever they want, when they want. This disease is very individual, just like there is no one medication that works for all.
I’m super sensitive to msg it’s sends me into an almost immediate flare and artificial sugar, gluten and a bunch of other things I have found through my own experience.
