Backtrack, but on the right track, again.

Hurray! After nearly 2 weeks of resting due to strained quad, I set out once more. I was due to do the last run of week 8, but wanted to ease back, so did Wk6 R1 and it was just right. After the second set (8 mins) I felt I could have carried on, but was sensible. At the end of the last 5 mins i was tired and was happy to stop. But wow the run, no numb feet, no aches, niggles and pain. I was so happy to be out, at one point I felt like doing back flips!!

I know if I hadn't have gone back today, more days would have passed, then weeks and so on...

I hadn't lost as much fitness as I'd feared, thank goodness. Graduation on course for next week then...

Oh lost 3lbs already with the 5:2 diet :)

We're on the same run then, good luck with it, I'm glad to hear you're pain free.

Glad you're back runningwild - and comfortable. Don't overdo it now with those backflips!

glad to hear you are back on track and your rerun went so well :-)

what's the 5:2 diet?

Thanks skf28.

5:2 plan or 'Fast' diet is where you eat whatever you like for five days a week ,then eat no more than 500 calories (or 600 if you're a man), twice a week on non-consecutive days. It was a 'Horizon' special back in August with Dr. Michael Mosley.
