Are you trying to compare yourself to anybody else angelmummy? I don't know where you are in the programme, but it really doesn't matter as long as you are progressing. Plenty of time to build up speed after.

I graduated last year and my km pace depends on what kind of run I am doing, if a tempo or threshold run then it will be faster. I tend to pace myself in miles, but my PB for 5k is 27.30, which works out at 5.46 per km. More recently, since my last knee injury, it has been 28.30 ish, but I'm working on doing a sub 27min 5k by the end of the year.

I'm on week 8 and it takes me around 7 mins 40 secs per K. I'm hoping to just keep going through to graduation and to being able to run 5k then I'll work on speed. I'd love to be able to do 5k in 30mins!!

Hi, I have graduated 2 weeks now and am doing 1Km in about 5.5 mins to 6 mins. I did my second race last friday and did the 5K in 37 minutes 38 seconds.

I've just finished week 8 and i'm doing 1km in about 7 minutes 30 secs on a very flat route. At the moment i'm just concentrating on not stopping, speed can come latter (hopefully)!

I don't know if asking others what their times are for 1K is of any great importance because someone 20 years old and 6'3" tall is bound to be able to do a lot faster than someone my age who is 5'1" small!! You also have to take into consideration the ups and downs you are running and weather conditions each time. What I think is more important is to ask yourself, "Am I performing as well as I can"? or "Can I dig deeper and better my last time"? Thats what makes me want to get back out there and do better each time, so my advice for what its worth would be forget what others are doing, concentrate on what you are doing and try and better it the next time. Its your achievements and yours to improve on when you are able. Good luck but don't forget to share your achievements with others because thats what helps motivate those who perhaps need some encouragement. :)
