Hey peeps
As I mentioned previously, I only recently came back in to resume the program after about a month off due to shin splints/query stress fracture. When I started the program I had timed it all beautifully to finish up by doing the 5km race for life...
Well, though I didn't manage to complete the program first, I did complete Race for Life this week... And ran (I should say shuffled!) almost the entire way, with only a couple of sections where I slowed to a fast walk for around 15 seconds. Managed it in a time of 35 minutes which I am very happy with. More importantly, I managed to raised £250 for Cancer Research UK.
Went out to resume week six this afternoon after a week off to recover, and got absolutely soaked so came back early. Try again tomorrow... I am determined to finish this program... and in the meantime... Starting to look for another fun run for September to improve on my time!
Anyone who is looking to have some fun while they run and maybe raise some money for a charity... Get out there, some great events out there, and not just for the elite runners!
