Gentle joggers

Five years ago I ran my first 10K in just under an hour, which was a thrill. Then I got cancer and lost a lot of fitness and strength, though I soon returned to walking and rowing. Six weeks ago I felt well enough to start running again and I’ve been building up the intervals really slowly, sometimes repeating a week of the C25K program if I feel like it. I’ve just finished week 4 and decided to join the forum to swap notes and encouragement with others gently jogging towards a fitter self.

It is really nice to read such an inspiring post. It can be very difficult to find motivation after losing fitness, but getting that motivation back is a wonderful thing. Well done for having the courage to run again. I hope you continue to post your experiences on here. Just remember to not push yourself too hard. We seldom want to repeat experiences that we find unpleasant, so run at an effort that feels good to you.
