After the sad death of two of my cats last year I was given by a neighbour a 1 year old all white cat, his name is Loki, I understand that is a Norse name meaning mischief
Almorr's new all white cat Loki : After the sad... - Couch to 5K
Almorr's new all white cat Loki
Al, he is beautiful, it's special to have a cat greet us when we come home isn't it?
What a cutie 🥰🥰 I miss having a cat but my dog would very much not approve! Loki is a great name. I hope he doesn't live up to it though 🤣
Cute cat AlMorr - same name as my brother's Samoyed 🐕
I think Loki is the Norse god of mischief! I wonder if he lives up to his name!
Yes Leotigris, my daughter told me yesterday that Loki is the Norse name of mischief. 😊 ✔️so far he has behaved himself until this morning when he put his paw on my mobile phone when I was listening to a particular radio program and he changed it to another program, 😂 lol
My boy is called Loki too. Great name!!
🍏Oh Loki doesn’t look as if butter would melt in his mouth at the moment. Very content!! Enjoy!! Part of my volunteer work is visiting people at home & I have a real love relationship with one persons cat. She always comes out to greet me & walks me to the door when I leave. If I put down a fleece or coat she’s into it!! She mak s my day!!
lovely cat may he bring much happiness to your household
That was lovely of your neighbour to give you the cat. It will keep u company. Well done on your run this morning 😊
Erm....your neighbor wouldn't happen to be named Ernst and talk funny? 😂
Ha ha John, I remember watching that James Bond film?? where Ernst talks funny while stroking a white cat, he says to 007 that he can watch a monitor while saying. "it's the last 'program' you will see Mr Bond" I can't just remember what that particular James Bond film was.
Aww he’s beautiful Al! Love the name Loki, hope he doesn’t get up to too much mischief 🤗 enjoy your bonding time with him, he looks very much at home and settled in the photo.
Loki is lovely, and he keeps himself very clean! Our cat Stan is mostly white with patches of grey, but he always looks rather grubby..
Just beautiful.... Loki was indeed a bit of a mischief maker !
The original, however, my new cat Loki has been well behaved, at least so far. ✔️🙀
Love the name Loki... hope the good behaviour continues.....
That's a lovely looking cat Al, He seems rather special with an unusual Nordic name and a beautiful white coat. If his personality matches, I'm sure he will be good, interesting company for you. Best wishes!
Oh he is gorgeous and yes Loki is the Norse trickster god - I have 2 black cats River she had just turned 14 and Louie who is 10 in jan both rescue and my fur babies xxx
What a beautiful cat 😻Sadly, I'm allergic to them, so I can only admire from a distance.
Don't forget to put a little sunscreen on Loki's ears in summer as white animals, and especially cats, can be prone to skin cancer on their ears.
Enjoy your lovely welcomes and company 😻
He's lovely! My youngest is feeding a neighbour's cat whilst they are away and is getting some quality time (and hugs) - highly recommended apparently!
Great that you have a cat again in your life. <3 He looks very content.
Loki is a god in Norse mythology, a shape-shifter and god of fire as well as mischief.
As a sidenote: Cats that are all white bear the risk of being deaf for genetic reasons. This risk is highest in white cats with two blue eyes. (Been active in cat rescue for 25 years, so this pops up in my mind as soon as I see a white kitty.)
IIHiThanks for that information regarding all white cats being deaf or partly deaf, Loki isn't deaf, there was a sudden noise from my next door neighbour lasting 3 seconds, I got a bit of a fright and so did Loki, so he certainly heard that short bang.
I was just thinking that Loki is actually my 5th cat, my first cat was called Topsy, she disappeared one day after I came home from a bike ride, my second cat was called Oscar, she was given to my daughter when she left school, after my daughter got married I kept Oscar until she died aged 18, Oscar is buried in my back garden.
My 3rd cat named Eeshan, he's the cat on my profile page, was given to me by my sister, I had Eeshan for about 9 years, he died last November aged 19, about six weeks after Eeshan died a neighbour asked me to take in another cat called Cooky whose owner died a few weeks earlier, I only had Cooky for six weeks, he was 19 and died in late February, so after just over 5 months without a cat, another neighbour asked me to take Loki who is one, hopefully I will have Loki a bit longer than Cooky.
Thank you for your reply. It is great to hear that Loki can hear.
I love your cats' names. It speaks of you as a great "cat daddy" that they lived to become as old as they did. I also love that you took in Cooky. Most people would not take such an old cat. (I have 9 kitties here, all rescues and had two 18 year old hospice cats a few years ago.)
Oh Al, he's gorgeous and clearly settled in already.
Sorry for the loss of your cats. I too lost my Holly earlier this year. I still have Bailey at home, in fact he's purring loudly next to me as I type 😊
Ooooooh Al! What a cracker you have there. You'll be an awesome owner for her. She'll soon know her new owner is King Al 👑
She is very beautiful AlMorr - and looks as though she is settling in well! I also had to say goodbye to my beloved cat last year. We took on a rescue this year in March and it is so lovely to have a cat around again!🐈
Oh such a beautiful cat! My mum had a white cat - a girl called Jemma. A real stay at home cat who loved to curl up on the sofa.I love cats but am very allergic unfortunately
Loki sometimes likes to curl up beside me on the sofa but not for too long, since I got him last Tuesday he has disappeared twice, once for 1 hour, he was hiding under the sofa where I sit, I didn't realise he was there until he reappeared, the second time Loki disappeared was in Wednesday afternoon for 3 hours "somewhere in the house" ha ha I searched high and low for him in every room, underneath everything but could not find him, eventually he reappeared to eat something, I still don't know where he went to on Wednesday afternoon, anyway he hasn't disappeared since then, 🙀 cats will be 🙀 cats. 😊
