I generally run 5k 3 times a week. Just recently I’ve developed a sweat rash which can get very itchy and sore 🙁 Never had one before and I’ve been running over a year. The only difference is I’ve been wearing long sleeved running tops and a jacket ! ? Any advice would be brilliant many thanks happy running 🏃‍♀️😀

Sympathy - itchy skin is no fun, though in my case it happens in the summer, due to heat and pollen. How to treat the rash depends on both personal preference and how bad it is - I'd ask a pharmacist for advice.

Is your running wear in wicking, breathable fabrics? Are the seams rubbing? And - sorry for the stupid question - do you actually need to wear a long-sleeved top and a jacket? Personally I hate being too hot, so save multiple layers for when it's below freezing and/or when the wind-chill makes it feel really cold. I warm up inside so I don't get chilled when i first go out.

As I have atopic skin and assorted allergies I have to use hypoallergenic detergents and make sure clothing is thoroughly rinsed. That might help too.

Hope you find a solution - happy running!

thanks - I’m at a loss really all my running gear is with wicking and breathable fabrics . The jacket is merely a waterproof very thin jacket for the rainy days , I think I’ll go back to short sleeves …🤞

Where's the rash?

I'm with @Cmoi. Skin is as waterproof as you need and a word with a pharmacist seems worthwhile.
