I'm loving the C25K plan. I've just completed week 7 run 2.

I started to get sore shins I think. Absolutely fine when I run ,just slight pain next day . Its the bottom outside of my bone. A slight sharp pain. I haven't noticed any swelling

Any 1 else feel this?

Shin pain aka Shin splints is quite a common issue .

Follow the advice in the program guide for reducing impact .

And running in the correct footwear.

Hi 1mig I am at the exact same stage as you ! Just come back from wk7 r2 which was tough for first 10 but then I managed to finish with an energy burst, I’m loving it too. Have you had a gait analysis and are you warring the right shoes? You might have got away with it until now but the pain could be showing up now on the longer runs if your footwear isn’t giving you what you need?

Hi Greenrunner. I've never had a gait analysis.

I believe I'm wearing the right foot wear. I bought some karrimor trail trainers but the majority of my run is on a path then off onto the grass.

"Shin splints" is a catch-all term for any problem in that area. It could be one of many things.

Are you landing heavily when you run?

Maybe this video could give you some clues?

Thanks for the help with sending me the video on you tube. I shall give it ago.

I dont believe I'm landing heavy. I've not really noticed tbh. I shall keep a eye on my stride. Thanks again nowster
