One year anniversary!

One year ago today I started the C25K. A year on, I’m running 3 times 5K per week, followed up with Yoga and Pilates. I changed my diet too and have lost 3 stone. It has changed my life. I cannot express what the running has done for my health and my head. If you are reading this and wondering if you should try or are struggling with it, keep going. You never know what you might achieve. Thank you to everyone for all the encouragement along the way.

Great to hear !Well done .

Have you considered varying your runs a bit ? 🤔

Maybe not always 5k .

Perhaps a shorter but maybe quicker one of around 3k .

Then your usual 5k at your normal pace .

Then perhaps a longer slower one ?

All great for development 👍

However you proceed, here's to the next 12 months 😁

That's great to read....congratulations. It also hits home because while I am currently doing The C25K program for the first time (currently week 6) I also do yoga daily. I am also a pilates fan and will add that into the mix. I haven't really thought beyond this program, the aim being to challenge myself to finish it but I think I will be happy if I continue to run 2-3 times per week, at 5 km. Maybe switch it up a little bit as Instructor57 suggested...it seems like a good idea. But I'm not eyeing any marathons in the future.....

I just wanted my regime to be sustainable. I own a restaurant, so flexibility is key but I have managed to keep up the 3 times per week. I think will set myself a summer challenge along the lines of Instructor 57’s suggestion. Keep running x

Great post, brilliant to hear that this has worked so well for you. Happy anniversary 🍾🍾 (maybe low sugar / calorie version!) I understand that managing a Restaurant is hard work, both physical and mental. I am so impressed that you have been able to sustain your running activities as well. Maybe this is a welcome 'let off steam' for you.
