Running with my Son 😊

So yesterday my 32 year old son was like 'Mum, I'm gonna run with you today'! I'm like 'Son, you don't run your get injured, he's like, ' I ride my bike I be fine'. So of we trot. Had to tell him that until I'm in my comfort zone I can't really talk, and he's Ok with that. Thought we should stop for his sake after 3k but he's like, 'Mum I'm fine', same again at 4k! 5k later I'm at my target and stopping. Turned round and he's stopping also. Explained that we need to warm down walk, which we did for a further 6k!. It was such a pleasure to have had that 1:1 time with him, we explored and chatted and was so relaxed it really was special. You don't often get to have times like this without other bits of life getting in the way. He rang me this morning to tell me that he hates me, lol, his legs are hurting 😅🤣😂

I think it was good for both of us if I'm honest, no phones and gadgets just each other x

Running with family is a great joy, but just because your son is young and rides a bike really does not mean that his body has resistance to impact.Trying to tell a 32 year old male that he needs to condition his body is like banging your head against a brick wall, but if he wants to be serious about running then he needs to learn the basics and not rely on testosterone to carry him through without injury.

He will get away with it until he doesn't.

Take care and try to persuade him to do the same.

I defo will do and thank you 😊

Super nice - I might cry if my 13 year old son ever asked me out on a run date!

That’s so special. I’d love it if either of my sons would run with me but think I have more chance of winning the lottery 🤣🤣

That’s so lovely, my 12 year old son came out for a run with me a few weeks back and he was sooo embarrassed I was in running gear he jogged/walked along way behind and didn’t acknowledge me at all🤣🤣
