Today I completed week 6 run 2 and I just couldn’t wait for it to end. Maybe my head was not in the right place, or I found the 3 minute brisk walk annoying …who knows?
However, both week 5 and 6 has given me confidence that I can do this. I look forward to park runs in the future!
3 more weeks of this program to go!

Some runs are better than others, once practically all runners have completed run 3 of week 5 they know that they will graduate in around 4 weeks time, run 2 of week 6 is the last run with interval walks and runs, from run 3 of week 6 until you graduate you will be pleased to know that there are no more walking breaks, good luck for your graduation run and for future parkruns.
Everything going on in our lives can impact on our performance as a runner. Restedness, hydration and nutrition are at the top of my list of variables that need to be optimised to enable enjoyable running.
You may find distraction helpful, so that the last things you think about are time and the physicality of running. If music doesn't do it, try podcasts or audiobooks. I used to give myself a running commentary on everything that I could see, hear, feel and smell as I ran, in full florid sentences.
I agree you can get good runs and not so good, but they all teach you something and all add to your confidence.
I must admit I dreaded the runs with no walking breaks when I first started them, but now I can't imagine walking in the middle of a run unless I completely overestimate things and have to - which, thankfully, I haven't yet done (but it's early days!).
