C25K giving it another go

i stopped C25K last year when i had to run outside. This time i'm doing a charity run so i ran outside 1.2k Monday

and determined to get running sorted. I think because running outside is so different i just went back to NTC, etc apps indoors. i have about 9 days to train so working through app. so far so good! i think i may have to skip some weeks only because i have done them plus i am short of training time and i workout anyway so i'm sort of fit just not running fit if that makes sense!! i am going to to w6 later on today.

Great that you want to do a charity run , however

If it was last year when you stopped then I would NOT miss out weeks or runs , Whether you work out or not you have not been running .

Missing weeks is leaving yourself open to injury .

Shortage of training time is no reason to risk injury, it's simply not worth it, ther we will be other events !

did it OMG the scenery DOES help! i did 2.90k on Week6 run 1 plus having a running app in background. 39min. i feel so much better than when i repeated w1 Monday. knackered but great!

Rather than skipping weeks and risking injury, I’d be looking at taking some walk breaks on that 5k. Any of your sponsors who don’t still pay up, send them to me and I’ll shake them upside down by the ankles to get that cash!

You’re awesome and you can do this plan… you can finish that run with some clever walk breaks… but the best outcome is money raised and an uninjured new runner ready to sign up for the next charity challenge, empty wallets and purses of everyone who knows them and do even more for good causes!

Enjoy that event, but keep yourself ready for the next one too!

i completed my 5k charity run and couch to 5k. but as i started the app a while back and came back to it a few wks ago i am going to start again esp as when i run it isn't continuous. i started wk1 again last week. i will do it properly this time. thank you all for your advice ::)) The Running Channel on You tube is very helpful too. 👍
