My head was not in the game today. Work is mentally hard at the moment and I ate my carbs an hour earlier than normal, phone rang twice during the run because I’d forgot to switch to airplane, yoga yesterday meant legs were more tired than normal, traffic was a nightmare, couldn’t get in my usual parking area, calf ache minutes in to the first walk and stupidly took a direction I know elevates quickly… then the final 5 minutes just felt easier. Got back to the car, ate my banana and stopped Strava. Turns out I beat all my PB’s, and was running faster than usual! Clearly an emotionally charged run. And uphill for half of the route! Two days off now and still really positive. Literally can’t wait for the epic week 5.

Thank you. Normally I’m very slow. Not sure what happened today. Maybe the lack of concentration got the better of me. I’ll be dropping the pace back next week!

Week 4 is a serious increase in the running minutes. My hardest run in C25K was at the end of Week 4.

By contrast the first run of Week 5 was a breeze. Enjoy it!

Thanks Nowster. That’s a lot of minutes this week. But I can see real progress. I am really excited for week 5. This is where my mind has to get over it! Haha.

Well done to you. Sounds as if all the negatives turned into a positive. Enjoy week 5....... Slowly. ..

Thanks Mrsrun. That was more luck than judgement. I had no idea my pace had increased as my mind was elsewhere. But I’m elated that it’s another week in the bag. Too far gone to head back to the couch that’s for sure.

Thank you, yes I felt amazing when I pushed through. It’s amazing how it all just evaporates when you get to the end and the positive feeling overtakes.

Ah we’ve all had those runs, everything’s conspiring against you! But well done for ploughing through. Best of luck for week 5 😊😊😊.

Thanks Frenc. I got there in the end. Crossing the half way point next week and reminiscing on how hard week one was! I’m not going back to that couch!

Thank you. My mind still thinks I’m unfit and lazy at times, but I’m proving it wrong each time I run. The mental hurdle feels like the highest sometimes.
