Reporting in that I did all my week 6 and my W7R1 last night (W7 onwards recording run time only). Last nights run was fairly comfortable until about the last 10 minutes where it turned into a bit of a slog. Speed was kept slow but was all uphill. Laura on the app said to try and go quicker on the last 60 seconds. In my head I told her where she could go.
I did develop two very mild stitches in those 10min aswell. So purposely tried to keep slow and breathing into my stomach. But anyway, I did it, job done. Food eaten was about 4 hrs before the run.
The other small issue I have atm is I have developed a small ache in the mid part of right foot. Just infront of my heel. No pain or anything, just an ache when I get up from sitting normally. Unless I stretch my foot out and press on it (am currently rolling my foot on a can of WD40 as I type this.)
I have googled and suspect it could be Plantar fasciitis. Whether it is or isn't I have found this link so will do these to see if it helps. ouh.nhs.uk/patient-guide/le...
I have also read on here lots about Gait Analysis. I didn't intend to do this until I hoped to complete C25K then if serious about running, get checked and buy better trainers. But I don't know if I should now bring that forward, or see if the exercises help a bit..... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I obviously can't tell whether or not you have plantar fasciitis, but I can suffer from it (and think it was initially set off years ago from trying to run in shoes with poor support) and my personal experience is that rolling something under my foot is the most effective treatment. But you do have to push quite hard, so something like a rolling pin is good because you can put a lot of weight onto it and it can be incredibly painful, although it sounds as though your symptoms aren't too bad so hopefully the rehab won't be so bad either! It's a good idea to sort it before it gets worse however, so starting exercises is a good idea. For me, it means wearing shoes with supportive insoles all the time now, and my running shoes were bought with it in mind. You will likely get away with not buying shoes for now, but be aware of any worsening of symptoms.
Hi. Yeah I have another run tomorrow night. But I might hold off until after the weekend if I get gait test done and new shoes. I don't want to do anything that might make it worse. Especially if my current shoes are not helping.
If you have foot issues, having a gait analysis earlier rather than later could keep you running...... injury could stop you in your tracks. You are under no obligation to buy recommended shoes after a gait analysis, but it might illustrate to you the inadequacy of your current footwear to support your feet.

Yes that's my biggest worry, getting a staff member who's a trainee or new starter 😁I asked a friend who runs, who did C25K last year about it. He's not done a Gait test, but he asked about for me and "apparently" he knows someone who runs for England, and they said go to sportlink.co.uk

I went to my local store of the same company earlier this year, the guy said he was a runner and recommended shoes and was friendly and knowledgeable I didn't find that he was pushy for a sale either.
