I started C25k a few weeks ago and tend to do it every other day. I haven't been following the programme exactly because i find week 2 so hard.
So far i have done All of week 1, week 2 run 1 & 2. Then i started week 1 again and i have just finished week 2 run 1 again. Did everyone else find week 2 so hard? My legs and arms are like jelly.
I do also vape and have done for about 6years now after being a smoker. I understand vaping is going have an impact on my runs.

I was totally shattered on my first weeks of starting the programme! I struggled to run for the 60 seconds, and sometimes fell short. But keep at it! You can do this! The hardest part about it is the mental attitude! Your body CAN do it, your head just needs to tell it!
I think my legs were sore for a good couple of weeks! I graduated last August and only now do I come back from a run with very little aches which don’t last long!
Well done on quitting smoking too! Two massive steps in the right direction for better health! Vaping doesn’t do half the harm to your lungs that smoking does.
Just don’t look at your situation in a negative way……… focus on the positives! 1, You got out and actually ran. 2, you gave up smoking! 3, you keep on trying!
Good on you!
Keep at it, it does get easier! I was overweight and couldn’t even run a bath without getting out of breath before starting this programme! Now I run 30 minutes, 3 times a week!
Every time you step out to run is one step further to improving your health!
You couldn't run a bath without being out of breath 🤣. That is so funny 🤣. Thank you for such a positive comment. I enjoy running and believe i will get eventually... i appreciate it takes time.
I have also being eating healthier and drinking more water for the past 3 weeks but found i have put on 1lb. That made me feel dissapointed but even more determined!!
😂 running a bath- it is true! How a year has changed me! If someone would have asked me to put the words running and enjoyment in the same sentence I would have said not a flipping chance!
Don’t worry about putting weight on…….. if you are overweight like me, it does take time to lose it, but I’ve lost almost 2 stone in the year. I fluctuate but I think that my body shape is changing from just being fat to being toned and as muscle weighs more that fat, I accept that! Well done on the lifestyle changes!
Welcome to the forum. Are running at a pace where you are still be able to hold a conversation, if you are gasping for air you are going too fast slow down. It's difficult when you start just follow the plan and you will see a improvement.
I quit smoking and vaping in week 2 of my c25k journey. For me I had finally got a reason not to grab my vape or sneak a rollie with my housemate. The struggle of trying to run was just not worth the nicotine high for me, the pride in being able to run was a much better reward.
I'm on week 5 just finished run 2 this morning and honestly not missing the nicotine all.
Maybe it's time to retire the vape if you want to give it a try? I didn't think I'd ever quit but I also never thought I'd finish my 60sec intervals.
