I’ve finally reached week 9 with day 1’s 30 minute run just finished. It felt great as I’ve had a break for a couple of weeks due to an uptick in my vertigo (due to menieres disease) and considered repeating week 8 again.
The advice I’ve read here many times is that a two week break is fine and any loss of form is gradual from there but it was great to put it to the test.
I’m still slow but the real sense of achievement in successfully completing each run is fantastic so I trust the pace will improve with time.
So one question for everyone - do you count the warmup and cool down walks in the distance of each run?
Hope you’re all enjoying this as much as I am!

Congratulations on almost completing C25K, only 2 more runs until you graduate, time the RUNS, not the warm up walk at the beginning and after the run which are very important as well, good luck for your graduation run 🏃🏾 😊.
Sorry to hear of your vertigo uptick, hope it settles for you. And thanks for posting about your ‘return’ to running, it’s good to know that a couple of weeks off doesn’t drastically affect fitness in the later stages of the programme.
I have only one run left before I graduate but my hip has started getting stiff about half way into my runs (started in week 8), so I’m tempted to take a few days off to avoid injury and then do my ‘graduation’ run early to mid next week (I’ll have to go and see a physio soon, I think, to avoid injury in my consolidation running).
Good luck with the rest of the programme! I’m already sad it’s ending and I’ve still got one run left!
Ooh, hip pain sounds bad for running - for what it’s worth I would definitely take an extra day or two to see if it eases. I think I remember reading it can be due to shoes so maybe a hair analysis now the shops are back in business if you haven’t already done so?Best of luck with graduation!
