I’ve just completed week 5 run 3 ! Really pleased! My partner and daughter came on their bikes to encourage me along which was great but my partner said that when I’m running my toes are turning outwards and that I look like I’m not running comfortably. Not sure if I can actually do anything about that but I’m worried it will cause injury if I’m not landing straight. Any thoughts !?

The correct technique to run is important, however, try to run a little straighter to avoid what your partner calls "Penguin feet"
Congratulations on completing run 3 of week 5, that is a milestone run with C25K, onwards and upwards to week 6 run 1 but be careful about that run as it catches out some people with the interval walks and runs after the non stop 20 minutes of W5R3 which you have just ran, perhaps a proper pair of running shoes could help you with your running.

How high are the arches in your feet?

It can be really hard to change your running style and can cause more problems than it solves. I would definitely recommend gait analysis with someone you can trust (not, as in my case, the Saturday boy at the local sports shop chain!). If you're up for it, get one of your family to film you running. A good independent running shop will be able to help.

Penguin was my nickname at school. My right foot in particular sticks out. My knees and feet are not quite aligned naturally. If you walk like that anyway I don't know what you can do. If you do it only when you get tired, then it's something to work on
