No pace is too slow, well done for keeping going
Pace doesn't maat, the goal is to get to 30 minutes runnng without walking breaks. There are not a lot of people who reach 5K is 30 minutes. I for example will need 47 minutes to reach 5K. But I am doing 30 mins consolidation run and will do for a while before upping it to 5K. So remember pace doesn't matter, the fact you are moving does. So well done!
Welcome to the forum and well done on your progress.
Only a small proportion of graduates from this forum who responded to a poll, managed 5k in 30 minutes by graduation healthunlocked.com/couchto5....
Graduation requirements are that you complete three thirty minute runs, regardless of distance.
This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.
Enjoy your journey.
Absolutely not, you're doing great! The goal of the programme is to be able to run 30 minutes continuously and, despite the title of "C25K", the distance covered in that time (and therefore pace), is irrelevant.👍
Hi! I don’t think you should be concerned at all. I’m 21 and I’m the same, the main thing is to do what is best for you and what you feel comfortable with! ☺️
I’ve just started week 6 and loving it too. I’m quite slow and I put out a question similar to yours re pacing. From replies to me, it seems that speed is not important, just getting to the final 3 x 30 mins in week 9 is the goal. Good luck.
Thank you all for your comments. It looks that I just have to enjoy the ride and see what happens 😄
