Welcome to the forum.Any non impact exercise is going to be beneficial on your rest days.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

thank you

There's something across on the strength and flex page I'm sure you'll find that'll help pass time, and aid your running

Anything that's not running and is low impact.

Go for a walk outside. I find it is a great way to stretch out those legs and ankles after the run the night before.

Definitely.

Also doing something relaxing that takes your mind off exercise as this running lark can start to take over your brain. Playing (or learning to play) a musical instrument, reading, or even watching telly is allowed.

Eat cake, apparently. I'm not coping well with winter lockdown. Apart from that, I use resistance bands. They're cheap to buy and easier to store than weights. I've also bought a stability ball and I do lots of walking.

Liking the cake idea

Indoors - Pilates (my usual class has moved onto Zoom), & exercise bike. Outdoors - cycling & walking. 😄

Pilates. It feels so good to stretch all your muscles especially after sitting at the computer and running. There are loads of free classes on the NHS website for all sorts of ages and abilities. I do some strength and flex work on a Saturday to try to build in more upper body strength and movement. On Sunday, my full on rest day I do as little as possible!

Thanks. I haven't done pilates in a while, good reminder
