Did my first run today!

I joined and did my first run in about 8 years today, and it killed me! I didn't run all of the segments but tried my best.

My chest felt tight and I felt a bit sick and dizzy at times but when I got home I felt knackered and great.

My outer thighs are starting to hurt already but hoping to do next run in Monday. Came on here for some motivation and support!

I used to run and about 12 years ago i did a 5k race so I know I can do it. Just need to keep going

Congratulations on starting C25K with run 1 of week 1 🏃take all the runs slowly, you can repeat any runs or week's if you wish to, no running on consecutive days as that could cause a injury, good luck for your running journey with C25K 😊

Well done for starting ! Remember the Dynamic warm up excercises before you run and the stretches afterwards !

Enjoy the program 😁👍

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Enjoy your journey.

Congratulations on running in the first place. To feel sick & dizzy, you may be jogging too fast, take it nice and slow, speed will come as you go on. I never look forward to my runs but somehow have never missed one as yet. Good Luck for your next run.

Well done on completing your first run, be patient the plan does work, run slowly so that you pace yourself and don’t get exhausted, get your breathing into a steady rhythm and you’ll do fine. Good Luck 👍🏃‍♀️
