I’ve just finished Week 3 Run 3. Slightly dreading week 4 due to the pain I am experiencing in my inner calves. It started about week 2 run 2 and is like an agonising burning sensation. It causes me to woddle home and it’s very uncomfortable. As soon as I get home, I get in a hot bath and use deep heat which really helps and I’m just sore the day after. The pain is really making me struggle as it’s all I can think about. Any tips on how to get rid?

Although new runners will experience aches as their bodies get used to running, you should never run through pain.
Have you read the introduction notes to c25k? You will find this in c25k pinned posts.
Pain is usually down to running too fast, instead of at the recommended conversation pace. Also if you search the nhs website, you will find ‘stretches for before a run’ and most importantly ‘stretches for after a run’. Hydration is also very important.
Have a few days off , and if you feel better, take some snails with you on your next run.
You’ll get there, don’t worry.
