Since I've graduated and on my 3rd week of consolidation runs I've been reading about 'Nasal Breathing'. As an avid 'mouth breather' I generally finish my 5K breathing through the mouth in a balanced way. Apparently Nasal Breathing is the correct way/optimal - I have tried it for about the first 50 metres but then tend to revert. Any help/advice would be great.
Cheers

I can't do it either, I try and try but just don't feel like I'm getting enough air into me to be able to run! 😂 I know I sound terrible as I've ran without headphones a few times and the sounds I make are awful 😂😂😂
There are various forms that are touted as optimal and they may well make a difference to elite athletes, but frankly the average recreational runner is not going to notice a significant difference.
When I did C25K I soon realised that the suggested counting of breaths to footfall was beyond me and I had to resign myself to the fact that I was unlikely to be selected for the Olympics and I reverted to what came naturally. A couple of years later I registered that my natural breathing was almost identical to the suggested, without ever thinking about it...............I still don't expect to be in the next Olympic squad.
