Stayed off the drink all weekend so I was up early and felt good, 6am just starting to get light outside (daylight saving really works!) set off on my warm up walk toward the park.
Music selection was old school, really relaxing happy tunes and turns out that Mr Blue sky by E.L.O is not only one of my favourite tunes ever it is a great running song and I run almost exactly in time with it π€£
Wore a new running top today, nice and reflective for safety on these dark mornings. It felt a little snug to be honest could maybe of went a size up but I suppose I'm trying to slim down so hopefully will fit better soon π€£
The run itself was great, no injuries, no niggles, breathing was OK, and only got in my own head a couple of times but luckily the sun coming up over the trees and general beauty of the park in the morning at this time of year stopped me from over thinking the little things. At halfway I felt stronger than usual and tried to keep my pace steady instead of slowing a lot as I often do. Keep that Mr Bluesky beat I thought! π€£
5 mins to go and I knew I felt good and like I'd got further than usual at this stage, put a little bit of a burst on as I headed to the lake and my planned graduation spot. Only one tune was going to do, so whipped my phone out and fired up Mr Bluesky for the second time, always knew I wanted this to be playing when I crossed the finish line (weirdly my nana owned this album on vinyl and if you had told me then that one day it would be one of my favourite songs ever I would have laughed!) the beat kicked in and I knew I would finish strong, even a flock of geese refusing to give way with 100 metres to go didn't wobble me, I just weaved between them while audibly lol'ing that my attempt to communicate with them in duck had failed π€£ yes I quacked at them as I was approaching! π
Few more steps and I was done! Looked at my numbers and was pretty amazed did 3.24miles in 30 mins! And a 9:16 pace, easily my best by some way and deffinately moves me into world war z/last train to busan/28 days zombie as opposed to romero/walking dead/Shawn of dead shuffler zombie π§ββοΈπ§ββοΈπ€£
I feel legitimately like a runner today, not just a fat bloke pretending to run and I could not have done it without all you lovely people who have helped, advised and encouraged since I first nervously shuffled around the local allotments and onto these pages!
I will be sticking around of course plenty of consolidation running to be done and want to see as many of you guys graduate as possible! You 100% will do it πͺπ»πͺπ»πͺπ»

Yay!!! Congratulations-what an amazing achievement and great time again! Look forward to seeing the word Graduate next to your name when you post next! 5 more runs and Iβll hopefully see you on the other side too! Have a great day x
Thank you Pepper! I am very pleased and the no niggle in the knee was one of the best bits! Enjoy the rest of your weekend too and look forward to seeing your runs next week ππ»
Excellent run for you Jericho2332, beware, that extra hour of daylight won't last too long, in a few weeks time, it will be dark again at 7 am.
Congratulations on graduating from C25K, to get your graduation badge and the word graduate next to your username, leave a message in the pinned posts on the right side of the HealthUnlocked October C25K graduation page and tell the administrators that you have ran run 3 of week 9 and graduated.
Congratulations Jericho!! Such a great achievement and a really fab time too, you definitely finished it on a high π₯³ Iβm looking forward to reading about your consolidation runs β¨
Woohoo!!! Well hello, graduate!!! Well done on your graduation run, bloody smashed it ππ» What a great achievement, youβre going to be smiling all day π You finished the plan and kept that commitment throughout, rain soaked baggy joggers dragging along and all πͺπΌ Just goes to show, all the shiny kit isnβt gonna get us through itβs sheer grit, determination and increasing fitness and youβve shown us all how to do it.
Ooh this has given me a boost ahead of my W8R3 tomorrow morning and heading into my final week!! WELL DONE ππ
Thank you R4ul! (Raul π€£) hahaha as if I'm a graduate! π± Your right I havnt stopped grinning yet π
The joggers where out again today, though slightly less baggy than my origional starting joggers! Kept the origional lucky basketball vest on though under the new running jacket, that came off at halfway and went round the waist so I finished the course pretty much as I'd started it, blue joggy bottoms, white nikes and an ancient vince carter vest! π I did catch myself pricing up some running tights the other day but I'm not sure I'm ready for that step yet π
Good luck with your run tomorrow, you will smash it! Look forward to reading it ππ»
It seems congratulations are in order and they are so well deserved, youβre stats are brilliant and such an inspiring post, if I was a morning person Iβd like to have seen the sun come up too but Iβm up at 5.30am during the week so weekends are for my cot.
Your story is like a lot of us on here and your amazing success is what weβre hoping for (just not as truly as athletic as you!). Have a great rest, your smile is testament to everything you have achieved and will continue to achieve. πͺππΌππ
Thank you jcksam! I too get up early all week so I can't sleep in on a weekend π€£ 6a.m is a nice sleep in for me these days π€£ I find I get so much more done if I get up early (even if that's just drinking coffee and watching the word go by! Or playing PlayStation like I'm still a teenager π€£π€£)
I would have been beside myself with the geese, I love them! I just realised where you went wrong though.. no wonder they didnβt move for you if you were speaking duck - βquackβ should have been βhonkβ! π€·πΌββοΈπ
Thank you acountrycabbage! Hehe I'm so pleased with myself... Graduate! π
My milage was 3.24 and think 5 k is about 3.1 miles ππ»
Wow of course your right! What on earth was I thinking π€¦πΌββοΈ speaking duck to a goose! π€£π€£π€£ Bafoon I am! π€£ They must have though "what on earth is this mad man staggering toward us babbling on about?!" π€£π€£
Congratulations Jericho - brilliant news and what a distance you travelled (loved the zombie references too)! πͺπ
You really graduated π¨βπ in style. You should be so proud of what youβve achieved and how far youβve come. ππ
Iβm thinking I need to make a specific graduation playlist too and I also love that song π§
Keep posting so we can see how youβre getting on post graduation. Have you set yourself another goal? Hopefully youβve finally managed that weekend beverage now too π»π₯π·
Cheers SD! I certainly will keep posting, no real targets as yet, think I'm just going to stick to 30 min runs for the forseable, certainly for the next month. After that we shall see! Havnt decided if I'm gonna use a trainer or just run with music? π€ Could test out the other trainers week 9s I suppose, see how they compare to the lovely Sarah!
πͺ Might be interesting to try the other trainers (although it may feel like cheating). How was your running jacket? Mine was slightly snug too (I shouldβve warned you!)
It felt good quality but the hood toggles kept hitting me in the headphones π€£ few adjustments required! I took it off and tied it around my waist at half way as the sun was mostly up by then and I was hot. I think it will be good when the weather is not so great though!
