Soggy early run dodging the slugs ๐Ÿคฎ

I've decided to say goodbye to my coach, Jo and download the Nike running club app

I loved reading acountrycabbage recent post and it inspired me.

Today was my only chance to get out, busy week with work and birthdays so despite the horrid weather this morning I decided to still get up and go.

Decided to just start off with 'My first run' it was only 20 mins but I've not particularly enjoyed my last 2 runs so wanted something I knew I'd manage.

I liked how the app measure your distance, a coach still talks to you to keep you focused and you can still play your own music which dips in and out when your coach speaks to you.

Will look forward to playing around with this and will try a longer run next time. I want to be able to comfortably run 30 minutes each time I go out, which was always my plan, I dont have any big ambitions to run really long distances, I'm thrilled I've got this far!! But what I do like with this app is you can choose different run times and it measures your distance. I've never had any idea how far I've been running before so see this as my measuring tool

And I did find running in the rain quite enjoyable ๐ŸŒง ๐Ÿ˜

Well done for getting out there!... ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

heard some good stuff about NRC ...

there is something quite satisfying about running in the rain ๐ŸŒง tho wouldnโ€™t want to do it all the time ...

I'm feeling positive about the app.

Yes I liked the rain, but not all the time ๐Ÿคฃ

๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ Well done for getting out there despite your busy week. Love a soggy jog! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Thatโ€™s great you enjoyed your session, it will be interesting for you to track your pace/distance from now on. NRC will issue you with badges on your first/best this that and the other from now on ๐Ÿคฉ Could help with motivation for running an extra 5mins to round up to the next K too! ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿคฃ

I'm really looking forward to monitoring how I progress.

I feel like I need someone talking now and again but I needed a change from Jo (sorry Jo ๐Ÿ˜˜) I feel positive with this. And although I'm not really ambitious about what I could achieve I'm curious to see my distance and how that differs on different days. Sometimes what I think is a struggle might not be when I see it mapped out

Totally hear you, Iโ€™ve managed to put thoughts of distance to one side as Iโ€™m concentrating on continuing with solid 30min runs (effort enough!) but it can be so interesting to study your stats.

One time I felt horribly sluggish and a bit deflated only to check my stats on finishing and it was my fastest run yet!

Towards the end of C25K it easy to think weโ€™ve mastered pacing but I think itโ€™s more tricky than first appears โ˜บ๏ธ

Looking forward to hear how you progress with your new insights ๐Ÿคฉ

So agree with you on that.

I thought (foolishly) I've got this sussed now I've graduated, i was wrong ๐Ÿคจ๐Ÿคฃ

And yes sometimes your head gives a different impression to what you think you've just done.

Thank you ๐Ÿ˜Š

Well done for getting out there !

I intend to do a few NRC runs using Andy Puddicome as I have used a few of his Headspace meditations ,

Well done you ๐Ÿ‘Œ I have tried to get out the past two days but our rain is just constant , donโ€™t mind getting wet but not before I even get out the garden gate ๐Ÿ˜‚โ˜”๏ธ๐Ÿ˜‚

I like NRC, and going forward there are so many to choose from .mi also like that it seems easier to have the guide & the music and minimise at least some of my โ€˜techno glitches โ€˜ ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ˜‚

Think that 20 min one is Coach Corey who is very good , I like coach Bennett who is smooth as you like and could convince you that you could run a marathon such is the motivational quality of his voice. ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

On a serious note though thereโ€™s a few things heโ€™s said that make absolute sense and are things Iโ€™m trying to do and need to stop trying to do !

Also though , I am aware that we are on the same page regarding just being in the run , just the one youโ€™re doing right now .

I have no firm goals really I just want to be able to enjoy running for 30 mins, if that gets me 5 k down the road thatโ€™s fine if not thatโ€™s ok too.

If I can eventually run a little longer thatโ€™s fine too but Iโ€™m happy to let it just evolve .

My run, my pace = my enjoyment ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ˜‚

At the moment my goal would be to get out for a run ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคฃโ˜”๏ธโ˜”๏ธโ˜”๏ธโ˜”๏ธโ˜”๏ธ

Yes it was Corey, I found some of what he said very interesting I'm looking forward to trying out some of the different runs. I like the variety, choosing the type of run, length of run.

You sound just like me, no desire to aim for a marathon, I just want to stay on track, enjoy 30 minutes running and seeing how my distance/pace changes

Hope the weather improves for you soon โ›…

Great going! ๐Ÿ‘

Whilst I do like light rain, the rain gods gave us intermittent heavy showers here in Manchester today. I couldn't find a suitable time to go out. That probably is a good thing. My ankles were feeling a bit off yesterday and I felt quite drained this morning. Another rest day will probably do them/me good.

The rain clouds were in your favour today then making you rest an extra day ๐Ÿ˜
