C25k, act two.

I completed the c25k programme in Jan/Feb of 2019 with a local running club. In late May the same year suffered an injury to my right foot which curtailed all running. This year I felt I could reintroduce some running, so announced my intention to complete the c25k programme via our village community page on FB. I hoped some person might join me to provide mutual encouragement. To my surprise I now have 5 ladies running with me 3 times a week. Some have never run since school days, others like myself are the steep side of 60. I am pleased to report that all completed the r3 w5 run last night. I am so very, very proud of them. I can see the huge gains they have made in just 5 weeks. They too must feel the benefits, as two of the ladies have friends asking when the NEXT c25k programme will be announced.

I believe there is a run leader program. You could do that maybe. Well done on getting a running group started, that is such good news and must be great to be part of. Spreading the joy!

I'm very pleased to report that the entire group have now completed their first run of week 9. No drop outs, in fact we gained another lady mid programme. With existing covid regulations we've had to split the group into two smaller groups, but this has worked well. The community support has remained fantastic. To see their progression from struggling to complete a 1 minute run at week 1, to now running (and talking!) for a full 30 minutes is pretty impressive. Being with them has spurred me on too. So a win, win.
