Constant Calf Pain :(

Hi. Can anyone advise on what I should do when I’m getting calf pain. I got to week 6 with no issues at all. . Did W7R2 and started to get calf pain badly and pain from ankle to knee in shins. I Read this may be splints and had 5 days rest, doing the stretching. . Started back at week 6 Which seemed ok, got to week 7 R1 again and couldn’t complete it. 😢. I have been trying short runs to ‘get back into it’ but my calves are so tight and sore all the time I’m losing heart. My head wants to do it, I really want to get out there but it’s too painful. Why? Everyone else seems to breeze through and ‘just keep on running’ but I can’t seem to. So I decided to get a gait analysis and got new comfortable New Balance Fresh Foam runners, it seems to coincide with getting worse .....? 😔😔. Can anyone help. I’m feeling so down about it. Many thanks.

Thanks to recommendations on here I've found James Dunne's videos quite helpful on the causes and prevention/treatment of calf pain: youtube.com/c/JamesDunne/se...

I've been working on the strengthening exercises and, while calves seem to be my running achilles heel (if you see what I mean) the tightness is definitely getting steadily better.

Hi, while not specific to calves, I find it really helps me to do Katja’s Yoga and Pilates video on You Tube called ‘Stretch and Flexibilty Routine’. It is only 27 minutes long. There are calf stretches in it as well as hips, glutes etc.
