I think I have suspected shin splints which is fun, I also looked at one of my shins today and noticed a bump. I could have knocked it at work but I don’t remember doing this.
Anyway, after some googling it says to rest for two weeks. I’ve only just started up again after a week of sickness, which is rather frustrating.
Has anyone had this and do you have any advice?

I’ve had a bit of pain and so been reading a bit on them...
they aren’t great (sorry!)
I don’t know a lot and I’m certainly not an expert but I have osteoporosis and shin splints if you don’t rest can turn into stress fractures...
the advice is you stop running for couple of weeks and do softer sport.. walking, yoga, swimming... they also said when you return to running build up slowly and run perhaps on softer ground... you probably already read this too 😢

I would definitely get it checked especially as you say you have a bump but can’t remember banging it.
