Running apps without distance announcements

Hi C25kers

I graduated last year, have been running about once a week since, was doing 20 or 25min runs then 30 and now onto 35mins. I really like listening to Sanjeev on the app and hearing the cues of "5 minutes reached" etc really helped me but obviously it doesn't go beyond 30mins.

I can set the Samsung health app on my phone to alert me when 5 min intervals have passed but it also reads out your pace, remaining time and predicted final distance which I find SO OFFPUTTING AND DISHEARTENING! 😂 it puts me in a negative "oh I'm not going fast enough" blah blah mindset, when really im only running for my mental and physical health in the first place.

I dont want to focus on distance - only length of time running. Does anyone know of any decent app you can have on over music that will alert you when certain time intervals have passed? Thanks in advance (and sorry for the long explanation)

X

Runkeeper can be programmed for distance or duration intervals, or you can switch them all off..

I certainly don't fancy an app which tells me what I should be running at not what I have been running like Mapmyrun which I use, do those apps actually talk back at you and tell you that you are not running fast enough, really.

The samsung health app reads out (at either time or distance intervals whichever you choose) your current pace, your average pace, distance completed so far, predicted final distance for the time you have programmed, e.g. 40min run. I would like to only hear how much time has elapsed :)

I was using it too and it was hilarious...the "run faster" just wanted me to ditch it altogether. In the end I just used to just "run" and then the Samsung health app will still tell you the fastest K covered / splits /overall distance etc after the event but not during.

Yes it's great for the info afterwards! I like the audio cue of telling me how long ive been running for...helps me mentally somehow! 😊
