I haven't run since last Tuesday. The weather was too hot Thursday and Friday, then it's just been stormy rain wall to wall since then. Not nice showers you can dodge, full on walls of water.
I'm hopefully going to get out later today but won't deny I'm worried, it's the longest gap I've had since I started c25k.
I'm going to take it slow and shoot for 30 minutes but be happy with anything over 25 I think? Does that sound sensible?
Please someone reassure me I won't have to go back to week one.... 😜

If you read the guides it tells you that we don’t start to lose fitness until we haven’t run for 2 weeks so go enjoy your run, do t push too hard just feel how it is
As stated in the guide to the plan, healthunlocked.com/couchto5... you lose no significant condition in the first two weeks of non running.
After that loss of condition is gradual.
All any of us can do after a lay off is to go out and see what we can comfortably manage, then build back up gently, using C25k or something similar as a guide to weekly increase.
Thank you guys, I read the advice all those weeks ago when I started but didn't think to go back to it now,so thanks for pointing me back in the right direction 😊
I had last week off also and had to drag myself out this morning. I posted on here when I got back to share how surprised I was with myself for getting a good run in after time off. Go for it and do whatever feels good
Thank you, that's encouraging. The weather is still absolutely dreadful but the worst of the wind is supposed to stop this afternoon. I've run in the rain, and I wouldn't mind that, but I was out there sorting something in the garden for about five minutes yesterday and it was like someone had thrown a whole bucket of water over me!!
I think the weather is the biggest factor for me every time I plan a run. I prefer the wind to rain personally. But I do draw a line when the temperature is over 15°! Can’t stand being overheated
Needed to hear this, I've only run Tuesday and Friday last week, meant to go last night so it was "3 runs in a week" but didn't! That's thinking of weeks as Monday to Sunday though...if I go today that's still 3 runs in the space of a week 😂 that's what I tell myself! You'll probably find you have a really good run, I know if I have a couple of rest days it works wonders!
You've done better than me, I'll barely have scraped two this week. Never mind, I've got to stop seeing things in terms of 'success' and 'failure'- it's good to get out and run whenever I do it. Good luck today!
