Strangely, I just ordered a Garmin 245 and decided against music... but the watch is excellent. I was considering the 45 which would be replacing the 35 that’s served me well for a year, but I fancied the body battery and pulse ox features, which won’t in themselves help any given run.

I have Garmin vivoactive 4s and just adore it, I download a playlist from Amazon music and off I go, The s is for small as i wanted it to look like a watch rather than a smart watch, it does everything else i’d ever want from a smart watch too including alerting my chosen contacts if ever it needed to. The deciding factor for me to have music on my watch came back in January when I dropped my iphone on a run and smashed the screen, good luck and enjoy whatever you choose

Can you download music from your apple library too?

Yes but i think it’s a bit of a faff, you have to plug the watch into your computer and may need a free programme so i haven’t bothered i have amazon prime so just go in there on my phone and make playlists

It depends... Apple Music (subscription service) is in protected M4P format... so won’t work. iTunes libraries ripped from your CD collection will work (if in mp3 or aac format). There are conversion programs that can convert from protected M4P to aac/mp3 but it’s extra faffage. I believe iTunes purchased music is in regular aac format, so would work, but older files were DRM protected so a fresh download could be needed for older files.
