My last consolidation run was a bit of a setback as I only managed 3.3 km and gave up. Felt disappointed with myself but resolved to try again today, putting it down to the heat and tiredness.
And ..... did 5.36 KM in 36 mins! Started off slow and tried to relax into a stride and calm breathing. Put some loud music on and didnt think about how far / how fast but thought about other things, enjoyed the music and even the rain shower! At 2 km I thought β this is not hard, I can do itβ and actually started enjoying it- so much so that I did a short sprint to the end. Just goes to show that mental attitude , getting your breathing regular, relaxing not panicking and focusing on other things is key- as well as being well hydrated and doing proper warm up. Looking forward to the next one now- feel like Iβve made some kind of breakthrough!
